The name “sammie beatz” is derived from an old username I made in high school, inspired by an old rapper/producer crush I had at the time- (formerly) known as Hodgy Beats from Mellowhype. I’m a full-time RN by day but love delving into different hobbies all other times. Music has always been a major part of my life; from learning to play piano and becoming a dancer at a young age to attending many music events/concerts and collecting all types of music to my library.

When I was no longer routinely dancing, I always felt like there was something missing. I realized I genuinely enjoyed playing music for people just as much as I enjoyed being the listener. I wanted to be the person orchestrating a certain feeling and an environment for people. I saw an opportunity applied to ACODJ, not knowing I would gain so much more than just DJing. In just a few months, not only have I discovered new skills in DJing, but I found an amazing community that has helped me grow both as a person and as a creative.
